I grew up on Shelter Island having moved here with my family in 1966. I learned to clam and fish these waters and started boating in Peconic Bay more than 44 years ago ! I am a licensed bayman and scallop every fall with my brother Chris and my son Mike. I run a string of Blue Claw crab traps all summer and just can't get enough of the East End lifestyle.
I found Tubby for sale in Key Largo Florida and fell in love with the keys. I have been lucky enough to return with Tubby to Florida
3 winters and my plan is to winter there again in the winter of 2011-2012. Tubby will head south after the Porgy season ends October 15.
Tubby is a Coast Guard Documented vessel
licensed to fish within 100 miles of the coast and I hold a Coast Guard Captains license to carry up to 6 people on Tubby.
